LED wall calibration

A one-time setup so the wall matches your camera and 5600K lights: same brightness as the room, neutral white, no color cast. Redo it if you change the camera, lights or LED settings.

  1. Set the camera as for a real shoot: 5600K white balance, your usual ISO, shutter and aperture. Light the talent spot with your key lights.
  2. Show this chart full-screen on the LED wall at 2688 × 960, 100% scale.
  3. Hold a white or 18% gray card at the talent spot, facing the camera, lit by your key lights.
  4. Brightness: adjust the LED wall's brightness until the chart's middle gray patch reads the same on the waveform as your gray card (or the white patch matches the white card).
  5. Color: adjust the LED's color temperature / white point until the chart's white and gray patches sit in the center of the vectorscope, with no blue or orange cast next to the card.
  6. Check the gray steps: every step should be visible, with no crushed blacks and no clipped whites. Check the skin patches look natural on the monitor.
  7. Write down the LED settings, so every shoot starts from them.

New layout

Upload a photo of a wall: an inspiration image, a room, a screenshot, or a sketch. The app reads it into a layout for our 22.9 × 8.2 ft wall, plus a suggested finish from its colors.

People and furniture in front of the wall are ignored; only what's on the wall is used, including the parts they hide.

or drop it here. Straight-on photos read best.
